I can't believe people on here are complaining so much about these. Need instructions? Are you serious? Here you go:
1. Put string through hole in handle.
2. Tie knot.
3. Snap two parts together.
You need to have that printed for you?
I had no problem tying a knot and getting the two halves together AND I was still able to loop the rope through an eyelet and over itself AFTER tying the knot and putting the two halves together (barely). Having another inch or two for bigger eyelets would be nice, but not a reason to give these one star. Amazing.
UPDATE
I have removed one star because one of the handles keeps coming apart. Not completely, but the gray part comes 'unsnapped' on one end. Haven't lost it yet, but i keep wondering if I'm going to.
I'm really pleased with these.
Looking at the pictures, the red circle is one of the knots (simple overhand knot will do) that you tie at the end of the paracord. Loop the paracord through the dark gray base and then through whatever mounting point you’re using on your kayak and then back through the bottom of the dark gray piece.
The blue circle is the other end of the paracord untied, it will be tied in a knot just like the red circle after it is run through the mounting point on your kayak and through the bottom of the dark gray piece..
Now you will want to place the two knots towards the white circles in the picture. This coincides with the yellow squares in the picture on the light gray piece and that is where the room for the knots is. Avoid placing the knots in the way of the piece in the green circle, this will prevent the two pieces from clamping together.
At this point you are ready to squeeze the two pieces together (the dark gray piece and the light gray piece). The two red arrows point to the tabs that go through the holes in the dark gray piece and clip in when squeezed tight enough….done.
Two last things, burn the ends of the paracord with a lighter, it’ll keep it from fraying and if you burn it into a little mushroom shape, it’ll help prevent the knot from ever coming undone and after you tie the overhand knots, pull on them very tight so that there is no looseness left in the knot.

These handles are so much nicer than the original straight handles that came with my Hobie kayak. Carrying or dragging my boat is so much more comfortable with these! I just ordered a second pair for our other boat and will replace those. Totally worth it.
